Project Details :

Harbor completed the installation of a parallel capacity hot-tie SUPS (2 x 2 x 500kVA) which was capable of providing N+1 between the A and B bus in the new DGS-1 building. The new UPS system consisted of four Eaton 9315-500 UPS, sixteen J-47 battery cabinets, two 2500 amp custom maintenance bypass panels, two 2500 amp switchboard system bypass modules, and four 1600 amp battery disconnect switches. Harbor also installed a Cell Watch battery monitoring system to monitor the status of the batteries and an Eaton Powervision system. All housekeeping pads and raised floor stands to support the equipment were installed by Harbor.

Harbor also installed three 1500kW diesel generators with weatherproof enclosures, maintenance platforms, and sub base fuel tanks. Harbor installed and tested the raceway and power and control circuitry to support the generators and performed load bank testing and assisted in start-up and commissioning of the generators.

In addition to the SUPS Harbor installed the critical power distribution system for the building which consisted of two 5000 amp main switchgear sections, two 2500 amp critical switchboards, twelve 125kVA power distribution units, four 400 amp distribution panelboards, and four 112.5kVA dry type transformers. Secondary power circuitry from the PDUs and RPPs were installed to new floor boxes and under floor receptacles. All raceway, cable tray, and power and control circuitry to support all systems was installed and tested by Harbor.

Harbor electricians load bank tested the new UPS system and assisted the Eaton CSE in testing and commissioning.
